Project 365, Days 197-203

197:365 Acai bowls are the perfect food on a hot summer evening.

198:365 Happy half-birthday to me! Half a cupcake to celebrate the event ha!

199:365 Finally made it up to Stewart Falls. Such a beautiful hike!

200:365 Summer isn't complete without watermelon. Also, happy 200 days to me! Funny that my 200th picture was taken with my iPhone ha!

201:365 Getting away to the country is sometimes what someone needs to rejuvenate the soul.

202:365 This day was the 8th anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I got this very book at midnight and spent almost all night reading it, consuming every page of this final installment of Harry's story. How fitting that I wore my Hedwig necklace that day on accident.

203:365 Took a quick trip to the library to get some new books to read. I love wandering the shelves and randomly picking up books you never knew you wanted to read.

Well, I've hit 200 days this past week! Exciting! I can't believe how long I've kept up with this despite there being good days and fairly rough days. It's also amazing to see how much this project has opened my eyes to see beauty in everything. At the beginning of the year, I struggled to find things to photograph but nowadays I don't have nearly as much trouble as before. If my photography skills don't improve from this whole thing, at least I can say that I now can see how the things around me can be photographed to be made extraordinary.

Now seriously, I want to blog about our trip to Hawaii so hopefully that will happen soon. There were plenty of pictures not posted for my project that should be seen.

Project 365, Days 190-196

190:365 I was at work all day (8:45-11pm) and so the best I could do was catch a bathroom selfie during the short period of time I wasn't editing a video.

191:365 My handsome date's shadow during dinner.

192:365 all of Provo city at sunset, love this view!

193:365 Ladybug on a succulent, so cute!

194:365 Pikachu graffiti on a building near our apartment.

195:365 A small dreamcatcher hanging from our rearview mirror. Let's hope it'll cleanse my angry road rage thoughts ha!

196:365 I got these adorable pineapple earrings at the Dole Pineapple Plantation back in Hawaii and I can't stop wearing them they're so cute!

We're days away from 200! Holy moly, I can't believe how long I've lasted doing this project. After 200, just one more milestone (300 days) to go until the final end stretch!

Project 365, Days 183-189

183:365 Something about ferris wheels and fairs makes me swoon. Even if I hate riding ferris wheels.

184:365 Had the day off of work and we went and caught a matinee of this charming movie, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. So good!

185:365 Fireworks are a great opportunity for me to experiment with my long-exposure photography. This was my favorite from the night.

186:365 Ryan bonded with a horse.

187:365 This was taken with our waterproof camera we got for our trip to Hawaii. From this angle, Ryan look rather ridiculous. Also, he takes pool time seriously.

188:365 Although I'm not always a huge fan of their flavor, you can't deny red onions are super pretty.

189:365 Rain-covered leaves are so pretty and magical for some reason.

I think this means I'm caught up! This Sunday I'll post as usual and hopefully stay caught up :)

Project 365, Days 176-182

176:365 This was the day we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie. Little did I know that the "grass skirt hip-shaking" hula-like dance originated in Tahiti, not Hawaii. Here are some ladies performing the traditional Tahitian dance.

177:365 Had a nice date night in Waikiki and of course we had to stop by the Apple store and play with the Apple Watches there.

178:365 Got up early to hike Diamond Head and although the view was gorgeous and our faces were smiling, we had a miserable time of it. Three words: TOO. MANY. STAIRS. Ugh.

179:365 Took a short day-trip to Kailua beach (or at least tried to go) but it was super busy there and so we didn't stay long. But we were told to stop by this market by my sister and so we did and got some goodies for our trip back.

180:365 Had an amazing last day in Hawaii and saw some stellar views. I want to go back some day, that's for sure!

181:365 After a long night of traveling, we got back to Provo safely and although we loved our time in Hawaii it was nice to be back to familiarity and our routine.

182:365 That doesn't mean that we won't be eating as much pineapple on the mainland as we did on the islands. We are still as pineapple-obsessed as before ha!

I meant to catch us up by today but this past week was a hectic one at work. Now things have slowed down and I think the official catch-up will happen this week for sure!

Project 365, Days 169-175

169:365 The best thing about our trip to Hawaii? Partaking in Beckie, Kyle and Micah's cooking. Yum!

170:365 Palm trees just exude feelings of relaxation.

171:365 We hiked to Manoa falls and boy what a view it had at the end of it!

172:365 Love me some beach time! This beach had fantastic waves and was beautiful all around.

173:365 It's like Hawaii was trying to convince me to stay forever.

174:365 Had a fun day at the Dole Pineapple Plantation. Also, pineapples look so weird growing from a plant like that.

175:365 Having fun at Pearl Harbor pretending to shoot things.

Reliving our trip to Hawaii makes me want to go back even though we were just there. One more week to go and I'm all caught up!

Project 365, Days 162-168

162:365 I am a sucker for ducks, especially ones that pose so majestically for my camera.

163:365 I am a huge fan of incandescent bulbs and their look. So sad that they're slowly being taken out of the market.

164:365 Spotted a snail crossing our path on the sidewalk and couldn't resist stopping and observing its slow progression to the small patch of grass on the other side (for what it's worth, I picked it up and put it in the bushes so it wouldn't shrivel and die in the sun.)

165:365 My hot, amazing husband said goodbye to the beard but not without me documenting how long it got in the 6 or so weeks he grew it out.

166:365 I love travel toiletries, they're so little and make me feel like a giant.

167:365 Got our boarding passes printed and ready to go for our vacation to Hawaii! (First leg was SLC to Denver because going East makes sense when you need to go West...)

168:365  We were greeted by my amazing sister at the Honolulu airport with real flower leis made of plumeria blooms that smelled amazing! Definitely felt welcomed and it was a great way to start our Hawaiian vacation :)

Another week posted and I'm still catching up! Whew! Tomorrow I will post another week of pictures :)

Project 365, Day 155-161

Hey everyone! Sorry for falling SO FAR BEHIND on blogging my photo project. I've been keeping up with taking the pictures but June was a crazy month of traveling and having adventures and as I like to say "real life before the internet". But I'll be using this week to try and get back on track. Plus blogging about our trip to Hawaii since there are a ton of pictures from that vacation that I didn't share on social media.

So here we go! All the way back to the beginning of June.

155:365 A small wasp was clinging to my door, too cold to do much of anything. I hope that the fact that I let it live means it won't come back and swarm me with its buddies.

156:365 Morning bike work-outs are really good for the soul.

157:365 It's Farmer's Market season! I love the small one Provo has all summer/autumn long :)

158:365 Grandma Durtschi's shelf is full of fun trinkets and decor.

159:365 Food truck for dinner!

160:365 Chocolate raspberry truffle soda at one of our favorite restaurants. So yummy and very refreshing!

161:365 I spy with my little eye...This was spotted at the Thanksgiving Point gardens and it was so perfectly serene and beautiful and I'm so glad I got to spot it :)

Alright, first post of catch-up week is done! Be prepared for the over-saturation of blog posts the remainder of this week!
